Atlantis 40 “Perfect Proportions”
There are facts that speak for themselves. The 3 m2 swim platform, with a depth of nearly a meter, is already enough to get a clear indication that the new Atlantis 40 knows how to interpret current yachting trends originally and effectively. On this next-generation sport cruiser, the stern and cockpit increasingly become the vital centers of the onboard experience, spaces to be enjoyed and exploited in a versatile, immediate and spontaneous manner. More than the dimensions of the individual elements – which are often considerable, as in the case of the stern platform or of the chaise-longue flanking the double helm seat – it is the perfect measurements of the whole that make this model special, the happy balance between sportiness and functionality. The cockpit, reached via the telescopic passerelle, accommodates a spacious and comfortable dinette. Six people can sit on the C-shaped sofa to enjoy lunch around the large teak table. On the right bulwark the dinette is serviced by a well-equipped bar unit complete with a glass-covered grill, a 50-liter refrigerator, an icemaker, a steel sink, and convenient cupboard spaces. The table can fold back without having to be reclosed: this reduces its surface area, freeing up additional walking space and providing maximum freedom of movement on deck. The table can also be lowered, enabling the sofa to be transformed into a large sunbathing area (1.4 m wide by 2.2 m long), which together with the chaise (over 2 m long) and the stern cushions provides a place in the sun for at least five adults. During the warmest hours of the day and for better protection from the breeze during navigation, the elegant power soft top will prove its worth. The roof enhances the Atlantis 40’s vocation as an open yacht, as the structure that supports it is very light visually thanks to the absence of any lateral uprights. This way visibility from the helm station remains excellent, and even more so because the steering wheel is positioned towards the center of the boat. For purists of the uncovered boat a version without the soft top is available, however. In both versions the Atlantis 40 is born to accompany owners toward the open sea, as shown by all those precious details indispensible for making a cruise an authentic pleasure.
Starting with the silent navigation: the engine room is soundproofed and closed with a counter-molded hatch that avoids any connection with the cockpit. To facilitate inspections and maintenance, access to the engine compartment is extremely easy. For the quickest interventions access is possible through a manually opened trap door. Alternatively, the entire hatch can be opened electrically. The numerous watertight storage compartments beneath the sofa, in the bar unit and beneath the stern platform, where there’s space for six fenders, are extremely useful. Overall the volume devoted to cockpit storage is 1700 liters. Below deck, where the interiors come in natural oak or polished cherry, are two cabins with private heads and an especially bright dinette thanks to the characteristic large portholes, a distinctive feature of all Atlantis yachts, and to generously proportioned ceiling windows. The master cabin is furnished with the classic central double bed and is enriched by a large, deep wardrobe and a bathroom featuring a convenient shower with a round tray. The guest cabin proposes a solution of sliding single beds that a simple, rapid movement converts into a perfect double bed. This cabin has a large, deep wardrobe as well and the bath is full height for total comfort of use. The midship saloon has an L-shaped seat for six, equipped with a clever folding table that turns into a coffee table or lunch table with a quick, simple gesture. Opposite the sofa on the port side is the galley. Spacious and practical, it enables flexible use of the space by day as either bar or kitchen.
