Cappellini boycotts UIM awards ceremony
Italian Guido Cappellini who won an unpresidented 10th World F1 title in 2009 has decided to boycott the official UIM Awards ceremony in Monaco on 6th March. It appears his protest is against the way the UIM is operating under President Raffaelle Chiulli and it also seems he is unhappy with his own National authority. Judging by comments in a Press Release issued by Cappellini, we get the impression he is not not getting the recognition he deserves and safety rules are being compromised. Another point he makes is that he feel international promotors have too much authority, despite being the ones who invest large amounts of money in their respective championships. However Cappellini is not the only famous Italian driver who has grievances against the Italian National Authority as we believe Fabio Buzzi no longer puts them at the top of his list of friends.
