Peters & May sponsor Unlimited Hydroplane
Leading marine logistics provider, Chicago-based Peters & May USA, is strengthening its brand worldwide and “giving back” to a sport it strongly supports, the H1 Unlimited Series. The international specialist in marine freight and shipping recently won a “special contribution” award for expert transportation of the Unlimited racing fleet to the first Oryx Cup UIM World Championship in Doha in 2009. At the Championship awards dinner, David Holley, managing director of Peters & May USA took the opportunity to present a check to Billy and Jane Schumacher, owners of the U-37 Unlimited Hydroplane boat to become the team’s 2010 H1 Series title sponsor.
“Miss Peters & May” will boast new driver JW Myers and begin the race season at the APBA Gold Cup in Detroit, Michigan, June 25-27. Peters & May sponsored the team in the 2009 Oryx Cup and displayed the race boat at the Miami International Boat Show last month. Holley noted that H1 racing had provided excellent exposure for the shipping company and created a mutually beneficial relationship with the team. “Our experience with Billy and Jane Schumacher and their team in Doha and Miami illustrates what a valuable tool Miss Peters & May can be in bringing attention to our company and the services we provide in marine transportation,” he said, “We look forward to growing the relationship as the Series travels to both local and new international destinations.”
